Code Of Ethics of AFPA
Governs Members Professional Behaviour

 


 

 
 
All AFPA members are expected to abide by the AFPA Code of Ethics which regulates members behaviour and ensures that the patient's best interests are foremost.
 

RULE ONE  

 
Members shall Comply at all times with the requirements of the Codes of Ethics and Practice. By accepting membership of the organisation, members agree to abide by all terms  and  conditions of membership, and agree to accept sanction in the event of a breach of the  Codes.

RULE TWO     

 
Members shall at all times conduct themselves in an honourable manner in their relations with their patients, the public, and with other members of the Organisation.

 

RULE THREE 

 
No member may advertise or allow his or her name to be advertised in any way, except in the form laid down by the Organisation.

RULE FOUR  

 
Members shall not give formal courses of instruction in any TCM therapy without the approval of the Organisation.

 

RULE FIVE

 
It is required that members apply the foregoing code to all their professional activities.

 

RULE SIX 

 
Infringement of the Ethical Code renders members liable to disciplinary action with subsequent loss of privileges and benefits  of the Organisation.

In order to best preserve public health.This code regulates how AFPA members practice Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine
 

 

It is a condition of membership that these codes are complied with and that members agree to accept sanction in the event of a breach of the codes.

 

INTRODUCTION

 

The purpose of this Code of Practice is not only to provide guidance to the bye-laws relating to the practice of acupuncture, but also to include preferred advice on those matters of practice, which are of importance in achieving the high standards of hygiene and safety necessary. Practitioner must ensure that they have achieved sufficient and adequate training in the practice of hygiene in connection with their work. Adequate professional indemnity and public liability insurance is considered obligatory by The Acupuncture Foundation Professional Association AFPA.
