CPD Members Guidelines

 

4 CPD credits is the annual requirement. Credits can be carried forward to the following year, so if you have more than the 4 credits for the current year, you can transfer the extra credits to the coming year.

 

 

There are 2 categories of CPD Credits. Category A TCM and Category B Non TCM but relevant to your practice.

 

The following are TCM credits. You can assess your own credit total.

 

TCM CREDITS.

 

CATEGORY A:- 2 CPD Credits per day or activity

Attending  or presenting an approved seminar / workshop / or online courses (per hour) in the field of Acupuncture/TCM

 

Engaging in any Acupuncture /TCM research

Engaging in any  approved Acupuncture/ TCM post graduate study

 Engaging in peer group case or clinical discussion and submitting details to the Education committee.

Completion of First Aid CPR course/refresher course

 Publishing , contributing or reviewing articles in any Acupuncture /TCM Health Publication

Undertaking an approved clinic / practise self audit, and submitting a written copy outlining details to the Education committee

 

If you have undertaken any of the above and can provide attendance certificates for any of the above then you can list your CPD points on your annual renewal forms. 

 

Example

i.e. 1 day lecture on any acupuncture or CM topic (2 CPD credits).

1 hour online post graduate TCM course . 1/2 credit i.e. 2 hours online 1 credit

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

NON TCM BUT RELEVANT TO YOUR PRACTICE –

 

CATEGORY B.        

 

CATEGORY B: 1 CPD  Credit per day or activity

Attending / presenting another healthcare seminar/ workshop/ online ((per hour online)course in an  non Acupuncture/ TCM discipline that may enhance practitioners clinic/ practice  that the AFPA have been informed about

Engaging in  non Acupuncture / TCM research or postgraduate study that will enhance practitioner eg : business course

Language Skills – learning a new language if using this in relation to the practice of Acupuncture / TCM

Reviewing articles from Health and Medical journals.

 

 

 

If you have undertaken any such course or activity and can provide attendance certificates or copies of reviews etc, then you can total the time you did and add it to your credits.

 

Example

 

i.e. 1 day lecture on nutrition or similar . 1 credit.

 

2 hours online nutrition or similar . 1/2 credit.
